The Raymond S. Kellis Leadership in Teaching Award is presented in honor of Dr. Kellis' legacy which is rooted in leadership. Those who receive this esteemed award have been able to demonstrate those qualities that Dr. Kellis himself emulated.
When Mrs. Patty Arkin began teaching in Peoria Unified, she served in various roles at different schools, teaching a range of subjects, coaching multiple sports, and sponsored student councils. Her dedication and commitment to education and student development are truly commendable.
In every position she has held, Mrs. Arkin has been a staunch advocate of Peoria Unified and her students. Her tireless efforts, selfless service, and unwavering loyalty have significantly impacted the advancement of the district’s mission, vision, and values. Mrs. Arkin consistently demonstrates exemplary behavior and refinement in representing both Sunrise Mountain High School and the Peoria Unified School District.
Her work goes beyond the classroom. She has coached badminton, volleyball, and softball; her influence extends to every corner of our Sunrise Mountain High School, and her dedication is a testament to her love for teaching and commitment to her students.
