"I want to make a difference in the lives of our learners with values, respect, confidence which lead them to becoming independent." - Teacher

"My why is because I want to see every child grow to be the most successful version of themselves, because my teachers did that for me." - Peoria Unified Staff

At the beginning of every school year I get a new set of rosters. The names on those lists are strangers to me, but they represent dozens of new people whom I will have the privilege to teach. Those relationships are my why. I get to help students expand their knowledge and their horizons, and in turn, my own life is enriched from knowing them.

I get to teach our future citizens, to challenge students on a daily basis by providing a safe and encouraging environment where they can reach their maximum potential.

Every day, I get the opportunity to share with students how the arts will help empower them to think critically, problem solve, and work as a team. I love that I get to lead our next generation to continue to build a better world and let their light shine bright!
